Our clinic uses this method, because this in-office whitening received Top Whitening System award 8th time in 2018 in a row. The process is 75 minutes long and at the end your teeth will be at least 8 shades whiter. In order to obtain the best result, a dental hygienic treatment is recommended before whitening.
This is the safest way of teeth whitening Budapest because this process is not invasive at all and does not harm your gums and protects enamel.
Please, note during bleaching your crowns, bridges and veneers will not get any whiter. Only teeth enamel gets whiter. If you have dental implants, crowns or veneers on the front teeth bleaching might cause you surprises as normal teeth get a couple of shades whiter, while teeth with crowns and veneers will remain the same color.
How long does treatment last?
It is 75 minutes long in-chair whitening treatment.
Before whitening tartar removal is recommended in the course of a dental hygienic treatment. This way your teeth can be a couple of shades whiter and results will be longer.
How to maintain the effects of teeth whitening?
The durability of the results largely depends on your lifestyle! In the 2-3 days after treatment, no product containing colorants (coffee, tea, cola, red wine) is recommended, otherwise the efficiency of the procedure can not be guaranteed!
In case you are drinking coffee or tea several times a day, it is recommended to have dental hygienic treatments 1-2 times a year to remove possible stains from your teeth. Also you can choose toothpastes containing whitening agents.

Home teeth whitening
Apart from advanced zoom surgery teeth whitening home teeth whitening is also possible because it is not advised to get your teeth whitened too frequently in surgery.
Patients who wish to have whiter teeth can do the process at home. It is important that you have to undergo a professional dental hygienic treatment before you start to use your home teeth whitening kit! This rule applies in surgery teeth whitening as well.
What is the process of home teeth whitening?
In case of home teeth whitening the patient puts teeth whitening agents in a plastic splint that accurately fits the teeth. There are whitening agents of various concentrations (10%, 15%, 20% carbamide-peroxide) used for teeth bleaching. Lower drug-containing bleach systems have to be applied longer, a minimum period of 14 nights, but if you use higher drug-containing compositions you can achieve significant change in the color of your teeth in 7 days.
The significant advantage of this whitening method is that it is less expensive than advanced zoom surgery teeth whitening. But the downside of is that neither your white fillings nor crowns will become whiter.
First appointment: The patient has to go through a medical examination and then a professional tooth cleaning (dental hygienic treatment).
After cleaning impression is taken of the teeth based on which the dental technician prepares the flexible plastic splint accurately fitting the patients teeth. This flexible splint is needed to apply the tooth whitening agent.
Second appointment: The patient takes over the splints and receives detailed information on the application of the whitening substance and the maintenance and cleaning of the splints. And please note it is possible discomfort during the teeth whitening such as follows: increased tooth sensitivity, teeth might get whitish discoloration at the marginal gingiva.
Of course, the patient will be instructed about mouthwash products to use during whitening and what foods and drinks should be avoided. These instructions are worth kept, because these substances can influence the outcome of the bleaching!
Schedule of bleaching at home:
I. Adapting the splint:
Thoroughly wash your teeth before bleaching. Food remains and fur on teeth decrease or impede the efficacy of bleaching (You may consult with dental hygienist for tooth brush techniques)
Push out the gel on the inner side of splint that attaches to the external side of teeth. Do not place gel on edge, occlusal surface and splint part attaching inner tooth surface. For each tooth, push out a size of tear drop of gel. Place the gel for all teeth to be bleached. At one occasion, you normally use one third of the tube for one arch.
Place the splint containing gel on teeth then carefully push it up at the occlusal surface in case of edge and back-teeth. The splint is placed properly when it covers the entire external surface of teeth
Disperse the gel with glossing the external part of splint carefully to teeth. Since the splint is transparent, you can see the bubble-free gel cover on tooth surface.
In case placing exceeding amount of gel in splint, the gel might pour to gum. Clear it off tooth brush, cotton pad or ear pick and the rinse your mouth.
In case you carry out bleaching on both arches simultaneously repeat the steps 1-5 on the other arch, too.
II. Removing splint:
1. Remove splint from arch after termination of bleaching (in the morning in case of evening bleaching, and 5-6 hours subsequent to initiation of bleaching in case of day-time bleaching).
2. Rinse your mouth and then brush your teeth. You shall use tooth paste containing fluoride for tooth brush.
3. Clear the inner and external surface of splint with running water using your toothbrush. No gel shall remain in the splint.
4. Check if there is any deformation on gum near the teeth. (Deformation may be caused by bleaching material poured to gum or by exceeding splint covering gum, too. Put back the splint and check it in the location in question. In case the splint does not cover gum the problem is probably due to overflowing material. In such cases place less gel and clear all gel flown on teeth completely. If you consider the side of splint covers gum consult your dentist or dental hygienist.)
During bleaching you may encounter with:
Formication: Patients account on soft prickling on the surface of teeth when using bleaching gel. This is due to the mode of action of gel, the so-called fizzling.
Teeth may be sensitive to hot and cold food, or to cold air during the duration of bleaching of 6-8 days. Sensitivity ceases within few days of termination of bleaching. It is suggested to use fluoride tooth paste or Elmex gel once a day to decrease sensitivity during the bleaching. In case the complaints do not cease bleaching may be suspended and, subsequent to ceasing of sensitivity, may be carried further. Shall you have any concerns consult your dentist or dental hygienist. To decrease sensitivity, you may request fluoride ontophoresis performed by dental hygienist subsequent to termination of bleaching.
Strong sensitivity: Sensitivity may be strong in certain cases, for instance with more sensitive patients or in states of decreased threshold of pain (exhaustion, illness etc.). In such cases, please suspend bleaching and consult your dentist or dental hygienist.
Toothache:In rare cases ache that is stronger than sensitivity may occur. Please, stop the bleaching and consult your dentist or dental hygienist.
The disadvantages of home teeth whitening
The home teeth whitening in all cases take much longer, up to 10-14 days and the successes will never be as high as in surgery teeth whitening performed by a specialist. There can only be 4-5 shades improvement achieved in the changes of the color of teeth.
For home teeth whitening obviously less concentrated bleaching materials are required, so the efficiency is low. Unfortunately gum irritation is very common in case of home teeth whitening, as gums are not perfectly separated from the bleaching material as it is in a surgery teeth whitening process.
Just a few people take into account that home teeth whitening can only change the color of teeth, but tooth fillings, veneers, crowns will remain exactly the same color. So it’s possible that home teeth whitening will get you worse outcome than it was before. For example, if there is a crown or filling at a clearly visible place, it may be strikingly different from the color of bleached teeth.
The result of home teeth whitening is less spectacular, and the positive effects do not last long enough. Especially if someone regularly consumes foods and drinks that contain coloring agents or if you smoke. The home treatment lasts at least 10 days, and a heavy smoker is unlikely to abandon one and a half weeks of smoking. The same applies to coffee, soft drinks and other foods and beverages that have a strong coloring effect.
Based on the description above it is clear, that advantages and disadvantages of home teeth whitening to advanced zoom teeth whitening are not balanced at all.
The fact is that the home whitening material is a much smaller investment, but the efficiency of an Beyond Whitening Accelerator whitening is much better. Beyond Whitening Accelerator teeth whitening is much faster, more precise and makes much greater difference in color and is much more durable.
